HL Display and MOOS AI joined forces to improve inventory management.
Smart merchandising taken to the next level
Merchandising solutions provider HL Display and AI-powered digital solutions technology MOOS are joining forces to create a system that combines automatic facing and real-time inventory tracking.
The two companies have been working together on a development for the future of retail. The system ensures an excellent shopping experience for the consumer. Thanks to its automatic facing technology from (HL Display) the products remain visible and accessible. At the same time, it enables easy FiFo management, as no product is left at the back of the shelf.
Besides an excellent shopping experience, the new system provides unique access to key shelf inventory information (MOOS). This includes product availability, restocking frequency and even insights to optimise costs or implement a dynamic pricing strategy.
Combined, these innovations allow the retailer to optimise costs, streamline processes, reduce manpower, limit losses due to theft and make more informed decisions.
How this solution works
This solution allows you to know the inventory changes with unprecedented accuracy and granularity: what happens, where it happens and when it happens for individual products on individual shelves.
To implement this system, HL Display's ‘Glide Track’ merchandising device was required. This gravity operated system was custom designed and manufactured according to the customer's needs. In addition to automatic facing, the merchandising solution had to offer appropriate segmentation, presentation and communication in accordance with the client's brand.
The Glide Track system was combined with MOOS sensors, which are connected to the cloud to deliver a real-time signal.
The core layer processes signals to shelf transaction using artificial intelligence (AI). The results: key information available through user dashboards with operational insights for strategic decisions & fleet management.
A solution successfully proven in the market
One of the leading beauty and personal care chains in the Netherlands implemented this system in the personal care, baby food and fragrance categories.
The qualitative indicators recognized the system as an aesthetic and adaptable solution for their existing shop fittings and products, and at the same time, invisible to the shopper to ensure customer comfort.
Quantitative results showed:
- An increase in replenishment efficiency between 25 and 40%.
- An 80% decrease in manual counting time.
- Sales uplift due to better product availability between 5 and 15%.
